Am I able to close a limited account?
 

Hi,

This is my first post so sorry if this gets asked a lot. Paypal are going to limit my account in 130 days if I don't provide ID because I'm near to their £1900 receiving limit. The problem is I can't really provide ID because I lied about a few things when I signed up. Should I withdraw all my funds gradually into my bank account and leave the PayPal account and if so, does a limited PayPal ever get closed?

you will have the option to close it once it is empty. you can close it yourself anytime as long as you are not limited

No you can never close a limited account.

Once limited paypal 'own the account' & you can do very little with it.

When empty you will not have the option to close it. paypal will kill it for you & close it themselves. :juggle:

That's what limited means. You are not able to do any things with the account, you are limited.

But your situation is not there yet ;)

The £1900 limit is an annual limit

Just leave that account and the relevant EB account until the reset date comes around and you can have another £1900

Do NOT get to the point where they limit the account though or you are snookered

Thanks for the replies and messages. Really appreciate it. So my best bet's just empty the account and stop using the it until the reset date and hopefully I'll be ok?
