Are there any alternatives to bank accounts to remove limits on Paypal?

This might sound a bit silly asking but i was just wondering if there is any alternatives to adding a bank account on paypal in order to lift limits on sending and withdrawing etc. Just because its a bit annoying when you don't have another bank account to use. If anyone does know of any alternatives please let me know.
Thanks

Well if you add a credit card/vcc you will up the limit (you can spend $___ until you need to add a bank account) on the account. Not sure what the limit would be on UK accounts

GrannyT 06-08-2012 09:21 AM

Doesn't work for UK accounts

Any "basic" account with no credit score or check should do you well, especially if you plan to open multiple at once/in a short space of time. I use the Barclays Cash Card account (5 of them all opened on the same day in branch) and all my PayPal deposits on the rare occasion that I use them these days (due to their bullsl-lit, which simply is not worth it for me any more), all go in after just 1 day. This is all the time it takes to go from pending to completed and then reach my account.

Okay then mate so you think the Barclays Cash Card Account is one of the best to use then. I'll have a look at setting one up now and see where i get.

you opened all 5 in 1 day at 1branch? how the hell did you explain you needed 5?

Also try Metro if you live in London

I went to one of their branches but they informed me that their "basic" account does not support direct debit. So it effectively has no advantages over a savings account.

I just told them that I needed them all for different PayPal accounts... and to not refer me to any business account since it would hurt my credit score. This was all the truth and they "bought" it.

I went into halifax and opened an account. The lady was mega helpful and i explained the situation. She said that the maximum number of accounts allowed is 3. Pretty **** if you ask me.

Elijah 06-29-2012 04:09 PM

3 is standard for banks, unless you close some before opening new ones up again. On a related note...

I did a bank transfer today and everything went smoothly... until the lady serving me entered my details into the system and saw that I had 5 accounts. She literally fell out of her chair, and after pulling herself back up, told me that she did not know anyone could have/need that many accounts... she had a lot of respect for me after that.
