Angry will paypal force me to pay refund

Hi. I have an issue with an ebay buyer. First they won the bid on a popular item on the tuesday.
She then emailed to say she could not pay til the sunday night. Out of goodwill i agreed to this. I wish i hadnt. She then did not pay and emailed to say she would pay on monday or tuesday.

I showed a great deal if patience. I posted the item 2 days after payment by which point she had already asked if i had sent even though i state i post within three days.

She complained that she has not received the item and has lodged a claim. i nievely used first class standard post and think this difficult customer has the item and wants to keep it for free.

Paypal has now put me in a negative 25gbp since i had already withdrawn cash. My paypal account is not verified so is not linked to my bank account and i have deleted my card details. Can or will they force me to pay the refund?

You did not do yourself any favours by posting the item without recorded delivery or signed for/proof of posting. This lack of proof on your part pretty much ensured the buyer got their refund back from you however unfair this may seem to you.

If you do not pay PP the outstanding sums, this will go to a debt collections agency who will harass you endlessly to get a resolution on this.

Is it worth all this hassle over £25 pounds ???

It is your call.

Is this a stealth account or a legit account with your details?

I always send by recorded delivery for this very reason.

OP, I am not sure you realise what I meant in my earlier post up here.

By PP refunding your buyer & putting your PP A/C in the negative by £25 means they have in effect already 'taken' the funds from you.....the next step for PP would be to pass this onto a debt collection agency to collect this from you should that PP A/C remain in the red by £25.
