Default PayPal - How do I get paid? For new sellers...

For the Paypal experts out there!! Help!

I'm a new Paypal user, do I have to ship the item first to get paid? Or will I be able to have access to my funds first then send the item. (I'm just about to conclude a transaction, and would like to get paid as soon as the deal is closed).

Thank you for help!

Buyer pays you via Paypal.
You send the item.

Paypal may hold the payment until either the buyer leaves feedback or 21 days elapses. After this point you can either spend the money from your paypal account or withdraw it to your bank account.

Be aware that you are expected to ship the item fairly quickly after the buyer sends payment and not wait until you actually get your hands on the cash. If you do the latter, your account won't last very long.

Really? I always thought I could make the transaction first, get paid then ship the item.

Any thoughts on this???

Do they always hold payment for new sellers?

I don't think there is anyway round this..........as Ebayorbust mentioned you get your funds into your PP account and it will get released after they leave feedback or after 21 days.

Its very rare that new sellers won't have the 21 day hold and you need to take that into consideration when selling.

Its unlikely that you will have an account with no holds unless you are very very lucky....

if you have the hold, best to ship out, pop in tracking or wait for feedback and then withdraw.

If the funds are accessible and since your account is NEW, dont do mad withdrawals right away - that kind of activity can flag pp for suspicious behaviour.

Either way you cut it, you should exercise some patience and not LOOK desperate for the cash to pp
