Paypal Account

My old Paypal account was permanently limited due to multiple accounts.
There's no credit card linked to it however it did have my current address on the account.

now I've created a Barclays account which I want to use to sell online on eBay.

I'm not sure if Paypal will permanently limit my account if I used the same address

NoneOther 11-09-2012 05:48 AM

There is a strong possibility that they will.

You cannot use any details i.e. name, address, bank account and debit/credit card that have previously been used on either e/b or p/p. Everything should be new, these are the basic principles of stealth. A new you not in any way associated with the real you.

The name and credit card is new but the address is the same

Casterina

Re-read what was explained to you.

Avoid the chance of being linked.

So avoid eBay and Paypal? If so what should I use?

NoneOther 11-09-2012 06:56 AM

No one said avoid e/b & p/p.

AVOID USING ANY PREVIOUSLY USED PERSONAL AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION WHEN CREATING NEW E/B AND P/P ACCOUNTS

Does Paypal check the credit card address to the one I've registered on Paypal to match? Is there a alternative option to Paypal to be used on eBay?

NoneOther 11-09-2012 07:09 AM

Yes, if you chose to confirm the card then p/p will check the registered address matches that of the card.

Under almost all normal circumstances you must have a verified p/p account to be able to sell on e/b uk.

I would at this stage suggest you buy the guide and read it over and over until you fully grasp the principles of stealth.

If you have already purchased it then you had best start some serious study of it and research these pages until you can formulate an action plan of how you are going to proceed.

When you've done that post it on here for folks to comment and tweak for you.

Don't go creating any e/b or p/p accounts until you've done all that.

Good luck

Even if you just add the card before confirming it, they will still try to verify that the address matches.

So I'm out of luck of using Paypal as the credit card I've registered with Barclays is the address that I've on Paypal database

I've read the stealth guide and understand it

So I need to avoid Paypal as I want to use my real address on the database which will match my bank registered address, so my only ways is to use a alternative payment which eBay accepts such as ProPay, Paymate and others or use a merchant account,

I'll do more research on merchant account as I'm not sure what it is at the moment,

Also I've a Barclays Online Banking account, could I use that as one of the payment methods on eBay?

SUVE 11-09-2012 07:35 PM

Casterina,

Your understanding of PP stealth is very different to how it was meant to be understood & utilized.

I'd heed NoneOther's advise.

I appear to have missed something important.

Are you attempting to use an ebay account that had a limited paypal?

Is this why you are asking about a new paypal?

I've no problem with eBay so I'm fine with creating a account, just Paypal, my understanding of the stealth guide is if I would like to use Paypal, I must use a address that hasn't registered on Paypal before, but for me I would like to use the same address that is registered on my credit card so I won't be using Paypal, understand?

I know this is going to get potentially long winded & bogged down in detail but I'll say this much.

It is a requirement for UK EB seller A/C, that PP has to be offered as a payment method on their listings, alongside any other EB approved payment method the seller may use.

So, the answer to your Barclay question, is No in the current approach you have.

NoneOther 11-12-2012 01:51 PM

As myself and others have pointed out several times now without a verified p/p account linked to your e/b account you cannot sell on e/b UK (in any true sense of the word) even with an alternative payment method offered.

Your other problem is that 99.99% of buyers on e/b will ONLY use p/p as they are so brainwashed by them that they will view alternative payment methods very sceptically.

To summarise, without a fully verified p/p account attached to your e/b account you cannot have a UK selling account that will be in any way worthwhile.

isitworththestress 11-12-2012 08:44 PM

You can't just blame buyers anymore I tried to buy something on there the other day and was told I had to have a linked paypal account for this seller.

Talk about hitting yourself over the head with a stick.
