| SUTTY123 | 11-13-2012 10:44 AM | Rolling Reserve Hi,
I have had a rolling reserve placed on my account for 90 days and it is killing me.
I have business payments pro and take payments through ebay and my site.
The problem is i dropship, so the money they hold is most of my profit.
I do have two ebay accounts in the same name and they are linked to this paypal account.
I was thinking about opening a new paypal personal account, as i can
verify as i would be using an existing bank account in my name. This
would be to use until the reserve starts paying out in Feb.
My question is would paypal link my two accounts together and impose
a reserve on my personal account.
Really need some help as this is killing my cash flow!!
Cheers |

The accounts would certainly be linked but if they would impose a reserve I'm not sure, most probably would.
One thing to note If I remember correctly, you can't accept credit cards with a PayPal personal account. You can only accept payments funded with a bank account or PayPal balance.
Hope this helps |

Hope this helps | This is true. I tried making a PayPal payment to one of my stealth accounts as a "guest" on eBay yesterday but I was not given the option to do so; I could only log into an existing account or make a new one...
Then I realised that my account was a personal one, so I opened a business account, made the same transaction again and this time I was given the option to checkout as a guest and pay by card. |
| SUTTY123 | 11-14-2012 04:39 AM | Hi,
Thanks for your responses.
I would still be using my current paypal business account
for my one ebay account and website, which has the rolling reserve.
I would then be using another of my ebay accounts
that is linked,
by using a personal verfied paypal account under the same address, but different
bank details.
Would paypal also place a reserve on this, or do reserves only apply
on there business accounts?
What i don't want to do is get them limited, even though they are legit.
Cheers

From what I have seen with pp, you can expect a reserve to be placed...if not worse, like ID verification for risk purposes. |

Sutty123 | The risk might be the fact that paypal say they can apply a rolling reserve on 'every transaction'. By adding this to your arrangement it may make more problems.
On these 90 day rolling reserves you might ask about 75 days in for them to reconsider. Had the account prior to this had any chargebacks, disputes etc
Have you any spare funds you could dump in the account?
:juggle: |
| coolcatty | 11-14-2012 06:10 AM | i have the same thing on my account at the moment, 90 day rolling reserve of 10%, i've worked it out they going to £9000 in that reserve by the time any getting released, i've increase all my prices by 10% to compensate this at the moment.
Do you think paypal are doing this as a thing at the moment? |
| GreenBean | 11-14-2012 06:31 AM | Fair % of accounts appear to be getting this.
Have 15% on one that does not amuse me very much.
:fight: |
Wouldn't that be a good thing if you couldn't accept credit cards with a personal account?
No chargebacks? |
| Elijah | 11-14-2012 12:36 PM | I think that it only applies to guest payments though... if the buyer has an account already, they can fund the purchase with their card. |

Sutty123 | the reserve is because of the website you have attched, rolling reserves can happen on personal account with website attached also.
You can have a personal account and business it is not a problem and seen as though you are only going to be using your personal on ebay at worst it might get the 21 day holds but you can usually get the money in 3 days anyway.
regards your personal and business account, you can use same internet connection, even same laptop but use different user account on the computer.
you need different email accounts and so on, my advise is try your best not to link the two when asked becuase there is a good chance you can keep one if the other messes up if your LTD anyway. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:24 PM. | |
