Paypal lost the plot!

Hi everyone.
Here's a real cracker for you all!

Yesterday I attempted to update the details of one of the cards I have registered on my PayPal account only to have an immediate account limitation slapped on me for "Making too many attempts to change, add or link a card to my account" - One attempt is obviously too many.

I went to the resolution centre as instructed only to find that there were no outstanding issues or open cases - so having held for over half an hour waiting to speak with a support person with no response - I pinged them an e-mail asking what the problem was.

The reply I received was beyond belief!!!!!!

For my sin of trying to update my details I was asked to provide them with:
Statements for all of the cards I have registered with them, a copy of my passport or driving license with a large clear picture of me and a copy of my birth certificate!

Are they really that STUPID?????? Or do they think I am that stupid?

What a bunch of retards.

I could save them a lot of time and effort and simply send them my on-line banking login details and access information right?

The request for ID and credit card statements is standard for this type of limitation.

Not sure why you think Paypal is trying to steal from you? They were actually taking measures to protect you.

If you don't like their T&Cs, then don't use them.

Oh you make it sound so easy - if only it was that easy not to use them!

LOL never heard of someone being asked for a birth certificate :suspicious:

I appreciate you have to accept Paypal on Ebay UK and that trying to get buyers to use other payment methods is a waste of time.

The OP cocked up adding or amending card details on their account and then Paypal temporarily limited the account as a safeguard. Rather than throwing a hissy fit about it they should be grateful (to an extent) that Paypal is protecting accounts from being hacked etc.
