Paypal business account advice needed!
 

Hi all,

Today I have started setting up a Paypal business account.

I put in all the information they asked me for correctly.

I got through most of the verification stages without any problems and then hit a bit of a problem.

When it asked me to confirm the business owners home name and address I put the details in, clicked verify and it said the information entered couldn't be validated. I tried a second time and got the same message and have now been asked to upload / fax proof of who I am to them. (Photo ID and recent bill).

Once I've sent them that how long should it take to know if their happy or not and is their any other steps they will hit me with that I should prepare for?

I'm half expecting to be asked what I had for lunch with the amount of info they ask for!

Also...

They asked for company shareholders and directors details.

Will they run checks on this because I want to lie and just say its its owned by one person? I don't see why I should have to give every Tom, Dick and Harry's details over...

Do this still ask you to verify your phone number as I've not been asked to so this yet?

There are numerous times where PP does not call to test the number - still good to keep it active.

Phone number verification is no longer part of the verification process on UK Paypal.

They sometimes ask for phone confirmation as one of the steps to remove a limitation.

Their sign up process for a business account at the moment is a nightmare and they don't seem to be able to verify anything.

I just set one up about a couple of hours ago., personnel address I just put same as business, also I used sole trader, I think you used limited company options....that's just a guess based on them asking about shareholders.

Yea was set up as a LTD.

They couldn't even verify the company number so i've had to send them a copy of the certificate of incorporation.

Try setting it up as sole trader, it really depends on how you are going to run it. I just did it as a learning excise.

Also is the first time you have dealt with the limited company aspect?
