Does paypal cover international transactions?

Simple question.

I am sending money to China to a supplier for goods.
Will paypal's buyer protection cover me for international transaction incase something goes wrong?

That's like asking how long is a piece of string.

Two factors: Chinese suppliers and paypal.

If you are doing this I would fund the payment from a CREDIT card via paypal too.

PP doesnt like chinese supplier payments. Knowing that and if you dont know your seller really well, definitely pay via credit card.

Many credit cards have not only buyer protection but also fraud chargeback protection.

Another point would be to use a paypal account not related to any ebay account.

The paypal account is associated with my buyer ebay account, so I am not selling on this account.
It's a debit card. Is it still possible to make payment safely?

As the other said to have it really protected you need to pay via a CC
