Can you withdraw all the money in an paypal account if the money has been sent as a family/friend payment.

The money will be over £1'000 but under £1'800.

I would like to withdraw all at once.

Also, how long will this take to hit my bank account?

I am not transferring from accounts, I am actually getting paid from someone.

so the account is new

so i am guessing that this payment will be the first you ever take with this account

if i was you bud i would ask to be paid in smaller amounts over a few days

also try to get some payment in from elsewhere, just so you have some activity/history of receiving payments

over a £1000 is a large sum of money to take as your first transaction bud

paypal put holds on anything they want.

Documented here I have had holds on a charity donation.

new account, first payment, huge amount = HIGH RISK

it does not matter how the funds are sent, it is still a transaction

and pay pal could lose money

You use paypal. You have the risk of holds for any transaction.

Operate to protect yourself as best you can.

He's paying you for a service?

His account is fully verified as they have a store on ebay. (don't know if that helps)

As why would I need to worry about this seen as he is paying me?

Mate. you need to understand that anything is possible with PP or eby

can they, would they....Yes but might not.....its all a game of chance and up to you to dicide what to do.....there is no wrong or right answer


i know one thing.....i would not take that much and withdraw it all at once....i would do that in at least 3 parts.

Verified is good.

As others have stated, it is how you appear to PP that is important - if you try to withdraw all in one shot, PP could see it as a run-with-the-money try and limit you. Keep the withdrawal amount to 1/3-1/4 of the sum and 3-4 withdrawals spaced out is a better move.
