Careful when adding your bank accounts

When adding your bank accounts make sure your town/city match the sort code of your account your adding. If not they will block your bank account from being used and you will then have to jump through loops to rectify the situation (as I have done) which includes sending them a scan of your bank statement

Sorry I am not buying in to this at all.

Makes a complete mockery of freedom of choice.

What bank and what type of account was used?

Explain more the situation

Green Bean. Serious. I'll inbox you.

Previously paypal had improved user experience by when you entered in a sort code and account number it would auto fill the rest for you, now they let you fill it in but if it doesn't match what they have they block that bank account from being used

Thank you.

Not sure what the reasons might be.

Made a new paypal 4 hours ago with a UK bank.... no issues.

Ok, did the sort code you enter match the branch address you entered in the dd mandate?

Paypal making a complete mockery of freedom of choice? Never! Paypal wouldn't do that to better serve there own financial interests. Surely!

Yep.

Let me have a read of the pm.....

couple of things might be the issue

:spy:

sax4 05-29-2013 05:44 AM

Nonsense. I always use the head office address of my banks, never had an issue.

autosweeper 05-29-2013 08:43 AM

To put it simply, and to summarize.

You can no longer bull**** the branch location on the dd mandate. It must be the correct one as indicated by the sort code.

Callidus 05-29-2013 12:42 PM

Whats so hard about that autosweeper? Just google the address of the branch and input it.... thinking this is being made out harder than it is. Basics of stealth surely

Also confirm that this statement is untrue - doing a pp uk in the works (actually 2) - no issues on with town/city matching sort code
