Will they take money out my bank account

I recently sold an item on ebay and the buyer paid through paypal. Everything went fine, I transferred the funds to my account, went and spent them all the rest. The buyer then tells me he is opening a dispute against me because he feels the item wasn't as described. I told him it was exactly as described and I do not do returns. I am sorry but I sent pictures of the item and everything to him before he bought the item and he was over the moon with it. It also took him almost a week to decide he didn't want it.

He says he will get the money back via paypal. Thing is, I don't have the money in my account anymore, I refuse to refund the money because when I sent the item it was perfect and if he has gone and broken it then I don't see how that is my fault.

I am now worried though that I am going to wake up to an overdrawn bank account!!!

Please help

Yep. PayPal WILL attempt to get their money back through your bank account. The only surefire way to stop them is to close the account.

Needless to say, your eBay and PayPal accounts will be suspended and if your real information is attached they will send you to collections.

You need to reappraise your thinking quickly.

You may well be in the right to not do a refund.

But the buyer may entrap you still.

Reconsider if you value your account

Second this notion - confirmed incidents of exactly this happening.

OP's flag is UK.

Matter can be handled differently under existing UK bank laws.

Interesting to note if collections are different - PP can still reach into bank account however. I am just learning about the collection system in UK

I was not referring to collections.
