Paypal disabled funding sources

Hi

I tried to make a purchase earlier today, about 25 minutes ago, and it prevented me selecting a funding source of instant transfer or debit/credit card. Just e cheque was permitted which takes 5-7 working days. Not impressed.

My account is fully verified with no limits at all in place, and the seller is an established power seller on eBay who is also verified.

Any ideas on what can be done in this situation? I spoke to paypal, just got off the phone from them and they said its pretty much just an automated computer screening that considers the payment high risk. There is nothing they can do about it.

Has anyone had this happen to them before? If so is there a work around? I also did try to pay an invoice that was sent directly from the seller as a payment request but that didn't provide a work around just the same option.

Will this go away after a bit of time?

I've had this issue randomly on new accounts for the past few weeks.

I'm usually able to select cc/db card again a day later. But this is usually for $1-10 payments, not sure about yours.

If you want the payment to go though faster, may be worth asking the seller if he accepts other payment methods.

How big is the amount? Few glitches on UK PP...few users have reported success sending smaller amounts THEN a big amount (something like that) ....might help this glitch

Been waiting from nearly the start of the year for supposed glitches to go away.
paypal UK always supplies a lip-service response. (More accurately described as we don't give a toss about you).

Type of account is a factor as is the amount of funds being transferred.
