UK based alternatives for paypal

Alright guys

About two years ago I was using my own paypal account directly linking to my bank account to sell things on ebay. Then one day I got totally permentately suspended from paypal. Can never use tem again under me at all.

However my wife has been able to set up a unverified paypal account to buy things online. That works.

But I am wondering I want to set up two websites, one is a membership site, and one is going to be a deal site selling MRR products such as ebooks, videos and so on. I am wondering if I can use my wife's paypal account to do this? I know it's need to get verified.. But I am wondering if it will get limited becuase of what happened to my paypal? Even tho we won't be selling on ebay at all

Personally I would use a merchant account for this.

It is possible that your wifes account is linked to yours, but that would depend on how they were used in tandem at the time they were both alive, what details are shared between them, if they were logged into from the same computer or IP address.

Merchant accounts and Skrill are two popular alternative methods.

What's Skrill?

And most merchant accounts you need to pay per month to use, right?

Same compuer/ip address, home address, surname.. etc..

They they are without a doubt linked. Anything out of the ordinary on your wife's account is very likely to lead to it being suspended.

Use a stealth PayPal, or better another method all together.

Nothing is free in the business world.

Where will you use the paypal alternatives?

Skrill is MoneyBookers.

Yes merchant accounts you tend to pay a monthly fee. If something is free, then its unlikely to be worth using.

Skrill works - so do CCNow - authorize.net - many services to look into that will accept CC and PP payments (the latter 2 do both)

@byronwells

Candidly I would avoid using your wife's paypal. There is a chance of being linked.

However, since you are creating your website, that opens up your options.

You could look at NOCHEX too.

Nochex does look interesting... :) Do you know if they allow people to still pay via paypal or do they need to put in there card details again? Just wondering if that will put alot of people off

JamesNorth101 07-09-2013 05:55 AM

I am sure if you spent a few minutes having a look on Nochex you would be able to work that out. Not used them myself so I do not know off hand

Nochex seems to be based off of CC only - dont see how they accept PP as option...just had a light look

Will depend on how you set up your site and what modules you add.

Regardless, look to having a variety of payment options.

Safer for you overall.

Hello byronwells.

I work for Nochex. Customers cannot use PayPal to pay for goods using Nochex. We do accept American Express, MasterCard and Visa credit and debit cards - and we are working on a solution so that repeat customers won't need to re-enter their card details.

Judging by what you have asked elsewhere I believe Nochex might be a good fit for you as it sounds as if you are still exploring and Nochex represents a low cost / low commit way of testing out your ideas.

Hope this helps,
- Peter

Peter :yar:

Thought there was some talk of a module happening which allowed paypal?

Or is that still on the drawing board?

Hi Beanie!

This is something that we discuss periodically, but it keeps falling down the list as something else more interesting comes along!

Right now we have some bigger fish to fry so I don't see this happening within the next twelve months, but then again you never know!

Hopefully will have better news next time!

Cheers,
- Peter (I work for Nochex)

Inner workings would be nice but the forum does a solid job of dissection on the whole
