Activity: 0% Longevity: 67% | | PayPal Server Error
Keep getting this "The PayPal server is currently experiencing some difficulties. Please try again later or contact Customer Service".
Read another thread here on this. Waited for a day, still getting this error.
Any suggestions?
Edit:
So, I called and spoke to them, thought I'd share.
I switched to Barclays, my main bank, they were happy to give my cash accounts. Wanted to add in the new cash account (on an existing and active PP account that is tied to an active and selling eBay account, all with no previous issues) when the above happened. They said that they know of existing problems with new accounts. Told them that mine is an old account, where I just can't add my new Barclays cash account. They tried it manually. They can't even add it. What a joke! LOL! Heard the guy cursing - rofl! He told me to leave it for a day and try again. I actually felt pity for him and wished him a good day.
Oh, in conclusion, there is no resolution to my issue. Gonna wait a few days and try again.

PP UK is know to be very glitchy. Big risk in calling them, normally better to try to leave it a few days until it sorts itself out.

Not a given this will be resolved in a few days.
Paypal UK has been in this state of glitch for months.
Barclays have had a few problems too.
Patience is needed. |

Thanks for the heads-up, guys.
Am gonna see how I can divert all incoming payments to another checkout. A number of listings ending in the coming week, and this has to happen - LOL!!!
They just seem to want to make my/our lives miserable. If not for the fact that the majority of my customers use PP, I just wouldn't bother with them anymore.

Well, days later.....
Still can't add bank account. Called. Support also can't add my bank account. He recommended that I open a new PP account, add new bank account, then link it to my EB account.
I told him to send me an e-mail detailing all these, so if I do get limited or anything, I can always show proof that it was their recommendation.
3 hours later, still no such e-mail.
I am in the mood to punch something.

First rule of PP and EB customer support. They talk out a different orifice from the rest of us. They rarely stick to their word. Even if you did get the email, and did get limited they would pay very little attention to the fact that they recommended it.

PP UK has so many glitches with these bank accounts now - it's not funny. The rep stating that he would e-mail you....you happen to get his name and ID? Weak promises by pp - yet again

OK, after some 'tests', I can confirm the following. I hope it helps.
When you open a new PP account, you need to give it 3 days. E.g. if you sign up for a new PP account on Monday at 8am, it's essentially fully activated after 3 days, i.e. Thursday 8am.
Using this example, before Thursday, you can only effect one action. So, you can add a new bank account before Thursday and get it verified. But you can't add a new card or a 2nd bank account until after Thursday 8am. If you delete and re-add the same bank account, you will get an error too. It's all the same error: "The PayPal server is currently experiencing some difficulties. Please try again later or contact Customer Service".
Referring to my issue above and to regurgitate, mine was an old PP account that was linked to my active and selling EB account. I switched banks, wanted to add the new bank account, but got this error. It remained unresolved.
What I did was:
1. After numerous calls with PP support, they couldn't sort it out and accepted that it was a bug, so transferred my funds to the old Halifax account. |I received it fine.
2. I brought into play my backup stealth (different PP and EB), with new listings going there. A waste though, as I had just under 200 rating on the EB account with screwed up PP.
3. I closed the screwed up PP account. I then signed up again with the same e-mail address. Seems to work. Will update on how this goes. But not an issue, as I see this old EB and PP as basically gone and am just using for test purposes.
Anyway, hope this helps. I don't know why this problem came about, but GreenBean and others have remarked that PP UK have been glitchy of late. A real pain, but got every single penny back, so am rather chuffed.
Have a good weekend.
-Mack

WOAH!!!!
You never said you were deleting a bank account though. ( Or did you?)
System always throws a hissy fit there.
I always add a new bank account or card. But leave the existing ones in place.
I then make sure to direct funds to the right bank account or tick the right card as funding source.
I wait weeks before deleting anything.
So long as you can add accounts, you can avoid deleting existing ones.
That's how mine work for the UK. |

Hi GB,
Nope, for that screwed up PP account, didn't delete, so CS easily transferred to old Halifax.
Did delete when I was mucking around with the newly created test PP accounts. It's not just deleting. Any 2nd action seems to bugger the system, e.g. adding a 2nd bank account.
