| Bunneh | 08-02-2013 07:51 AM | If the money was in your paypal account it will have refunded the buyer.
However if the buyer paid you with a card or transfer from a bank account then the refund will be returned to the source of payment he used.
If the buyer paid by bank transfer it will need to clear on paypals side first in order for them to proceed to issue him with the refund.
As paypal has to complete requesting the funds from the bank account first.
Refund payments that are sent back to a bank card usually take approx 3 days to clear. |
| uscool | 08-02-2013 11:01 AM | Thanks , never had this happen to before, thought would be instant and they would have funds in there PayPal , not go back to source it came from , its been 2 days so hopefully gets it
dont really want contact paypal or have him contact paypal , |

You can also put the buyer's mind at ease by providing him / her with the unique transaction reference for the refund. |

Thank you |
Can take as high as 10-14 days for PP UK. Also - as previously indicated - could be an eCheck that has not cleared for him |

| johnnyleeds | 08-03-2013 04:50 AM | UScool, if it was an eqcheque that would have been probably because you had slightly less than the amount required for the refund in your Paypal account, so Paypal will have taken the money from your secondary funding source, i.e, your bank account. You should have received an email from Paypal notifying you of this. E-cheques can take up to 7 days to clear.
I had one recently and it made my bank account go into the red so it looks like I'm gonna get hammered with charged. Plus there is a danger that Paypal - if they choose to look, might see what your 'non-stealth' name is.
So ideally you need to be keeping a 'float' of money in your Paypal account to cover such eventualities. Mind you I'm alright telling you to do this, I dont even do this myself and I've ended up shooting myself in the foot big stylee. 'sake, I hope it doesnt come "on top", as they say on 'The Professionals'! |
