Buyer asking to send to a different address other than Paypal, with a twist

Sold an item today, and the buyer messaged me asking to send to another door number on the same block as the address was incorrect apparantley.

I told then i can wait for them to amend this on their Paypal, and they replied with ok, please give a refund and they will buy again.

Now.. me giving them a refund, would that mean i would not receive a final value fee credit? also, is there any way for them to actually cancel the transaction or request a refund instead of me just giving it, as it would mean i made a fault.. . correct?

Not sure if UK is different, but on US platform this is what I do.

Go listing.

Click on links to right and find resolution center.

Click on have not received payment.

Then it gives you options to file case.

Just file as buyer changed mind.

Notice will go to buyer to be resolved.

_____
Notify buyer so they do not freak out.

They end it.

And then you can go on with your business.

Hope this helps

When you relist the item, block this buyer. They haven't even paid and they are raising issues. Think of how much of a pain they will be once they have the item. Best to take your chances with a diff buyer.

In the future, do not even entertain buyers like this.

You ship to confirmed addresses only. No exception.

If they need it shipped to another local, you state in your auction that THEY need to change it BEFORE buying from you. And that you CANNOT make adjustments afterwards.

Refund, open the case, put that the 'buyer asked to ship where I do not ship too' to cover yourself. Also block the offenders.

While I understand that people move or need to go out from time to time, it is the buyers responsibility to take 2 minutes out of their day to change their address then for the seller to eat the consequences later.

There are too many predatory buyers on ebay now a day :ranger:

If i do a full refund, will it still be possible to open a case and receive a final value credit? Because im sure to be eligible for that there should be no payment received at all, which is not the case for me.

Dude check your reading again, the OP said "refund" many upon many times.

OP has his answer from AuctionsDenied. Just be careful OP with shipping things like that. Shipping items to a different address is normal, people move, but to a different unit number only, highly suspicious.

Keep us updated on what happens with this issue.

FVF credit needs to be initiated by you, go to 'resolve a problem' on dropdown.....if you do not do this you will have to pay the FVF.

Yes, you can refund the payment and if he does not pay again, you open up `Cancel transaction` - only thing to be aware of is if the buyer DECLINES, you would be liable for fees.

And moving forward, agree with posters - dont entertain these kind of buyers.
