Would Paypal money affect benefits
 

I'm not sure if I have posted this in the correct forum. I'm receiving a large sum of money and just wondering if it's ok to add the funds in my paypal business account. Just now I receive benefit money so can not have more than £8000 in my bank without it affected my benefits. Would the DWP check my paypal account and discover this money?

Also, is there a maximum amount I can have in the paypal business account? Is there any risks involved with having a lot of money saved with paypal? Would there be any issues with withdrawing money?

If it's all legit and above board, phone the DWP and ask them. :rolleyes:

You may be best to put your tin hat on now.

If it is just a one of sale of say a car, then you will need to tell DWP, and they will best advise you.

If you are working, and claiming benefits, you have to decide if its worth the risk of getting caught. (the answer is 'its not')

the chances of getting caught are minimal. and what right do the DWP have to check your PP account? i'll tell you: none. the only way they'll find out how much money is in there is if you tell them. same with a bank account. still, you're a bit of an arse for claiming benefits and working, so i hope you get caught!
