Entropay card expired new Card but paypal won't accept
 

Got a message from PAYPAL that my cc is about to expire and up date etc.
Anyway i logged into entropay and the ccs has updated itself giving me an extra year, fine, logged in Paypal clicked update, left all details as default address etc and changed only the expiry date and 3 numbs, these were only boxes highlighted to change so clicked next and got the following message:

This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.

What is hapenning?
Please advice.

Sounds like there are insufficient funds on the VCC.

Alternatively, just add a new card and remove the old one.

Add a new card to entropay and link it with paypal?

Yes. Once you've done that, let the old one expire and drop off or remove it.

@OP, does your EP card have at least $2 (preferably $5) as balance?

I have no balance whatsoever..

I have just topped it up & linked with paypal. Great, thanks for all your help guys :)

That would have been the problem then. :)

They do a preauthorisation of £1 and then actually charge €1.50 (approx £1.20) when you link and confirm.

Check the flag of the user you are responding to about entropay.

Currency differs bewtween the countries.


UK users are charged in sterling and euro

Paypal is still showing me the following :

Your Visa/Delta/Electron ending in 0474 is about to expire. Please update your card's expiry date as soon as possible to avoid any interruptions in using PayPal. Update Credit Card Expiry.

Although I updated my entropay card which is attached to paypal the expiry is 08/14!

Takes a day or so for that message to go away.

I added a new card when I had this message and then removed the old one. The message stayed on there about the card even though it had been removed. Disappeared next day IIRC.

Relax, it's just glitchy old Paypal. :)

Any idea on what happens if you don't add a credit/debit card once it expires? My VCC expired over a year ago on my PayPal account and I haven't even updated it. Granted I never let my funds dip into my attached Bank Account but there hasn't been a problem since. Is a VCC only necessary for account creation and nothing more?

When it will expire just make sure you have attached other card and this message will go away...

Yes but are we doing this just to get rid of a message? I mean it used to be free to make a new VCC on Entropay but they now charge you whenever a new card is made.
