everyone knows about the ebay/paypal glitch when you mark an item as disptached on ebay it does not always show as 'sent' in paypal,,even though it should.

we sell a very high volume of orders and less than 40% are marked as 'sent' in paypal after we mark all of them as dispatched on ebay...

because of this glitch, one of us has to spend 2-3 hours evey day to mark each item as sent in paypal aswell...

my question is --is it really necessary? or item marked as shipped on ebay or paypal is suffcient,,,does not have to be marked as shipped on both...

please advise..

Well I have to be honest and say that for me personally... I've never marked anything as sent in PayPal.

I dont know if that's the wrong thing to do but I've always done it though eBay and never once had a problem... so personally no I dont think its necessary.

Often when I mark something as dispatched, it is because it has been sent and it arrives 90% of the time next working day with the customer so they get it as quick as finding out its been dispatched half the time...

Never marked thing as sent myself in PayPal either, only ever in ebay

Ditto, never in 8 years on ebay bothered marking as despatched in PP - no issues to date

thank you so much for taking the time to reply and confirm this,

is such a relief not to have to stay 2-3 hours every day and mark the items as 'sent' in paypal aswell,, was supposed to be done automatically when items are marked as 'dispatched' on ebay but less than half are getting marked as sent on paypal..

we will confirm them as dispatched in ebay as usual and not bother to mark them as 'sent' in paypal aswell from now on..

Same here - only bothered with "Mark as Shipped" on eB.
