hi guys, just a quick question.

I have had a stealth account for over a year now and I want to purchase an item, but don't have enough money in my paypal account to do so.

I have bought a vcc with the money that I need already loaded on it. The vcc details will be my real address (I have a banned paypal account with these details so it is linked)

Now here comes my question. would I be able to purchase an item from ebay using the checkout as guest option, and the vcc that has my real, already linked, details on it without getting my stealth account linked in the process.

The only thing that i can think of possibly linking them would be my ip but would it work if i bought the item using my smartphone with a mobile carrier's ip instead. Any help would be greatly appreciate

It will depend on the delivery address you use.

If it is the same as the one linked to your banned account then more than likely p/p will pick up on this right away.

I will be using a totally different ip address and checking out as guest on eBay. Does any one know if this will get me linked in some way. I will be buying an item from eBay using a new vcc that has not been linked to any paypal account but the address on it will be that of a banned paypal account.

If you use an address that has previously been banned by p/p then they will pick up on it.

So yes it will link you

If you are using a delivery address that is already banned, then you will get linked.

If you are getting it delivered to a new address, but the VCC is registered to an old address then you simply need to change the address on the VCC to the new unlinked address.

Thanks for the help NoneOther and JamesNorth101. If I was to buy the item using the vcc and different ip address but a linked home address then I would be linked as you said but how would that link my stealth account is what I do not understand (my apologises if I am being stupid). Will it not let me buy the product or block my paypal account

The ip will be different to my stealth account
The home address will be different to my stealth account
I will be checking out as a guest so will not be using an existing or linked eBay account

It is like someone who has been banned from paypal trying to buy an item from eBay using a credit card that has the same delivery address as the banned account. Can you not do that?

Because it would link you though cookies. You would have to use a new user account.

If its being purchased though eBay it will also link to your eBay account

I will be on a totally different computer and totally different Internet ip connection (on a elderly relatives computer who have never been on eBay or paypal before, in a totally different physical location to mine). how will it link to my stealth account is what I still do not understand. It will link to my banned account of course because of the same physical address but nothing can link it to my stealth account if I am on a totally different internet connection that has never used or created a eBay or paypal account on it before.

Confusing. Let me take a stab. Because you're using your year old stealth account to make the purchase? You can't check out as a guest of eBay, only PayPal.

Lets try to clear a few things up

Is what you are buying from eBay?
If so, what eBay account are you going to be using to buy this item with?

I am am trying to buy an item from ebay, yes. I am going to buy it using a 3v voucher and purchase it as a guest. (I am not going to log in or create an ebay account)

Right, I see what you are trying to say.

You cannot buy things from eBay as a guest. You have to create an account. You can only pay for things via PayPal as a guest.

OK then, thank you for letting me know. Would it work if a created an ebay account on my relatives computer and used the 3v voucher to purchase the item from there?

That would work yes, but it will then mean that your relative cannot use eBay on that user account.

It would be better to create an eBay on your own laptop or desktop using the stealth method (minus the address of course) and buy what ever you need that way.

Thanks for that JamesNorth101, I will do exactly what you suggested and create a stealth eBay account on my laptop on a new user account and purchase the item from there on my relatives internet. Thanks again for your help and advice, it is much appreciated.
