F**e 'Suspicious Behavior' email from PayPal
I know you're all pretty savvy about f**e & spoof emails from PayPal but for those not aware of them, I just received one entitled 'Suspicious Behaviour'.
It addresses me as 'Dear PayPal member'.
And goes on to say - 'PayPal is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system. We recently reviewed your
account, and we need more information to help us provide you with secure service.Until we can collect this information, your access
to sensitive account features will be limited. We would like to restore your access as soon as possible, and we apologize for the
inconvenience. Why is my account access limited?
Your account access has been limited for the following reason(s):
We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. We have limited access to sensitive PayPal account
features in case your account has been accessed by an unauthorized third party. We understand that having limited access can be an
inconvenience, but protecting your account is our primary concern.
It then tells me that if I don't provide them with verification information within 24 hours, I will be suspended. There is a link in the email that leads to www-fuliang-co-uk/falung -- DO NOT CLICK ON THIS LINK!
I have reported this email to PayPal ( spoof@paypal.com & spoof@paypal.co.uk).
Remember, PayPal will never address you as 'PayPal member'. They will always use the name on your account. And the subject of the email will usually contain a policy code or an error code.
They also won't threaten that your account will be dust if you don't comply within 24 hours.
Just a happy warning to anyone who may receive a message like this - Throw it away!
