Activity: 0% Longevity: 57% | | UK paypal limited after trying to use foreign bank account
Hi all.
I recently tried to set up a PayPal account and link it to my bank. Everything was going great up until I had to add the bank account. Because the bank is based in a different country, it was very difficult to tell on the online banking screen which values were the original ones, and which were the converted ones. After about 3 attempts, the bank account was blocked. I contacted support and they unblocked it for me, and (supposedly) sent two more confirmation deposits. Only one of those deposits arrived, and so when I contacted PayPal to inform them of this, they suggested removing the bank and adding it again. However, when I tried this just now, PayPal is asking for the two statements that were sent previously (even though there was only one) as well as photo I.D.
Well, the account is under a completely ⊗⊗⊗⊗ identity (to avoid linking it with my other accounts) so I don't have photo I.D. Right now, I would be happy with making my listings on eBay, receiving the funds on this account, and transferring them/managing them to my personal account, but eBay now insists you have have a confirmed bank account attached to your PayPal, so I can't go down that way.
Pretty much I have a limited PayPal, a bank account which I can't link with any other PayPal account, and an eBay account which needs a PayPal account to function. I have already sunk about £30 into setting all of this up and I don't want to have that go to waste.

Is the PP a UK PP?
If so, which country is the bank account from? I would guess the USA, is that correct?

You said that the bank was based in a different country
If I understand you correctly both PP and the bank are polish, so they are in the same country. Why would you have any issues with currency conversion?

Why would you have any issues with currency conversion? | Yeah, the bank is Polish and the account is on Paypal.pl, however I am based in the UK, and the website (I have no control over this) converts any currencies into GBP. This means that when PayPal send the two confirmation deposits (because it is Polish PayPal, they are sent in PLN) it turns them into GBP. I am 100% sure now of which field is the converted value (GBP value) and which field is the original value (PLN), so if I could get the two deposits sent again, I would be able to confirm it.

Just write a word document saying you don't feel comfortable with submitting the documents and that you will wait 180 days, save it as a PDF file. After you do that submit that PDF file to each of the thing that PayPal requires. After they review it they will deny your appeal and you will get an email saying your appeal was denied and that you have to wait 180 days.

Polish bank gave you a sort code and account for compatability with UK use OP?
(Seems off because I have not READ the posts and not paid attention to the facts.)

Did you check to see if that could be done?
US banks are about the only foreign banks that may go on another country's paypal.
To do stealth, you must make sure of all your facts.
