| | | ebay*merchant | 09-27-2008 09:55 AM | number of bank accounts/paypal accounts Am i right in thinking i need a unique/new paypal account for each ebay account i have? As i have opened 10+ ebay accounts does this not mean i will need 10 bank accounts? As this is not possible is there another way?
Thank you in advance. |
| mantisinc | 09-27-2008 10:30 AM | Yes - you will need 10 separate bank accounts. |

i don't know if this can be done in other countries eg the US, but here in the UK it's damn hard to open more than one or two accounts. i can't get another account because the new banks to which i've applied ( four!!) all reject me on the basis of my already existing current account. my credit rating is fine etc., they won't even give me a basic account. i guess they all can't handle being secondary, tertiary accounts etc.
it's so frustrating...any solutions/workarounds for us brits? |
| Quasi_Mojo | 09-27-2008 12:53 PM | These restrictions are probably in place to "help fight terrorism".
Your best move, going forward, may be to use your two accounts. When and if eBay/PP limit/suspend you, close those accounts and open new ones. |
| Caseyjr86 | 09-27-2008 07:53 PM | Well if you go the WAMU/JP Morgan route, I think you can have multiple checking/saving accounts. Just know if the saving account number is not similar to your checking you can use that to. :D |

| aking | 10-01-2008 09:19 AM | Usually when you open a free checking you also get a savings with it, so that's good for 2 paypal accounts. |
| mantisinc | 10-01-2008 01:26 PM | I've got 3 accounts with no problems, and I'm not even 18 yet. Open savings accounts, not current accounts... they should have no problem with that.
If they ask, just tell them they're for paypal accounts to withdraw funds into. |
| Jenny | 01-10-2009 12:05 PM | I opened 10 accounts with HSBC Direct in a 3 week timeframe - No problems at all. All are savings accounts that provide the account # and routing # that paypal required. |
| oompaloompa | 01-11-2009 09:16 AM | I dont get mattcfe thing about opening bank accounts to verify pp then close it, surely closing it means you cant draw out money?
I have set up loads of current accounts at different banks. |
| quicksales | 01-11-2009 04:55 PM | I have 5 UK Bank accounts no problem!?! Just use different ones, when they ask you if you have another account just say yes. I did most mine online, you only need to confirm ID in the branch. |
| GreenBean | 01-11-2009 06:53 PM | quicksales, not 100% accurate. Any of the UK banks can and do ask their online customers to supply ID. Be very aware of this.
If a bank account is created by any means in the UK it is subject to the banking
laws. No account is immune. |
| citypark | 01-11-2009 08:32 PM | many saving accounts are not working anymore. So I think you can only open current account or basic account. |
| oompaloompa | 01-12-2009 12:13 PM | all uk banks ask for ID on first account you make with them, no exclusions.
why do you not want to supply ID, ebay isnt privy to it anyway.
ivobank might not ask for id, you could try,, its an online bank. |
he's not saying that
what he is trying to say is for quite a while we could use saving accounts which can be opened within seconds and could be linked with paypal without a problem but now they don't allow this . |
| oompaloompa | 01-13-2009 05:13 AM | ok, well youve got your answer then, many forum members having probs using savings accounts.
Doesnt mean you can use one and be successful, if there is one that isnt reported about on forum try it, if its no bother opening one and report back.
Personally I just open current accounts, I dont see the big deal. |
there isn't no big deal but would you rather wait 2 week for a bank account to fully open or 10 seconds |
| importracer150 | 01-13-2009 10:11 AM | I got 10 bank accounts with boa, and 8 with chase. Each account bringing in $400 a day. NO promblems yet. |
