Question Paid for something without funds, shows as completed...?

So i carelessly made a payment for a ebay purchase for £248.

I only had £140 in my paypal balance, it states the rest was taken from my bank account and the transaction is 'COMPLETED'.

Heres the question..

The bank account attached was closed down 4 months ago, it cannot possibly take any money from it.

So what will happen in this instance? i have a 'backup funding option' which is the mastercard attached the old bank account (therefore closed down, doesnt exist).

What exactly will happen in this instance?

If it was an instant bank transfer payment, then the part of the payment that was paid by your bank (£108) will bounce back and put your paypal account into minus of £108.

I dont think limited. This is not stealth, and ive had 2 ebay accounts banned that were linked with this paypal.

Paypal stayed active throughout, im guessing because its linked as the payment method on my website.

I follow you but there is always a CHANCE that if your pp goes negative, it can be limited as a default move...I have had it happen - just so you know.

If you leave it as a negative balance for to long it will get limited.

Are you sure its bank transfer, it could be a card transaction.

Either way, when I read this thread, alarm bells a ringing

GB's dead right, it could be what eventually limits you :(
