Bank accounts.

Anybody run out of bank accounts?( because of suspensions) What does everyone else do? I've had 4 bank accounts. Worried if I keep opening bank accounts up someone will get suspicious. Was thinking about ringing banks and saying can I change my account number. Anyone done that? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Nothing wrong with opening and closing bank accounts. Just make sure you spread it out.

Welcome to the forums - James is correct - spread the times and make use of multiple banks

We don't exactly have multiple banks in the UK, natwest, RBS, and Halifax Bank of Scotland are a good example of banks being linked and the same with one owning the others, lloyds are not good for stealth as has been pointed out before, which cuts down availability in one fowl swoop

Off the top of my head...

HSBC, BOS, Natwest, Smile, CoOp, RBS, Halifax, Yorkshire, Nationside, Ulster Bank, M&S, Post Office + lots of others. You can have 3/4 accounts with each. That is 40+ bank accounts.

It does not matter if they are in the same banking group.

No need to do that.

Marks your account for starters.

You make sure that you make best use of what bank accounts you have.

Avoid Lloyds. Bad bad news for stealth. :nono:

I have accounts ( in no special order) with

RBS

Natwest

Yorkshire

Ulster Bank

M & S

and others.

These banks allow multiple accounts if correctly made and used. I avoid using banks that want paying for their services.

Look at making basic accounts or current accounts.

Idea of that is reducing paypal fishing around looking at a new stealth account.

come to think of it, i had a lloyds tsb account which got closed down (fraud related)...i used a stealth paypal withdrawing money into the account!

looking back i think it was definiteley linked, after that i could not open a bank account anywhere, even the basic ones.

Re: Bank accounts.

If you have a fraud marker (CIFAS markers) on your credit file then you will find it very hard to open a bank account anywhere

Are saver accounts ok . Mat west , rbs etc .
I have noticed saver accounts don't receive a code from PayPal , I've waited over a month to receive a PayPal code . Also I cannot submit direct debit , when I try to submit direct debit it says ' cannot submit direct debit '
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong .

Re: Bank accounts.

Savers don't have the direct debit mandate feature. Ideally you want to add them via the withdraw money link so the mandate isn't submitted. Usually if you submit the mandate it will auto kick the saver but you can re-add it through withdraw money, lots of info on it through the forum

Depends what accounts you are using, might help if you were more precise?

The online savers from Natwest and Halifax are fine and DO give you a code instantly. Do not worry about the direct debit mandate on these. You just accept it all and in a few days you get a message saying 'your bank has let us know'...etc, this is where it is telling you that it can not accept dd's after all. Just ignore the message, your accounts (if they are the ones mentioned above) will still be attached and fully operable.
