| ooooo.halo | 11-18-2014 05:04 PM | nationwide savings I set up another pp last night and used nationwide saver as thats all i had left to use.
It appears that the 1p was made immediately but no code.
Rung bank today for it but they said they havent got it yet and try later on. Ive done that and still no code to which woman said probably wont come now.
I dont know what to do because ive just paid out for a 3 month mailbox rental.
Am i doomed?:-( |

I panic when it's 72 hours or longer.

:ranger: | Thanks.GB
My first stealth took over a week and had to.email paypal in the end.
Others no problems.
But this one is the.first where ive had the deposit but no code.
Maybe the woman i spoke to.knows about paypal coz she said that i should have ideally linked my paypal to my.current.account.there and not savings account.
Unfortunately the.current account is linked to a past paypal. I just said that i used that account because when i.was setting paypal up, the savings account.card was all i could find. She said that was fine though |

In terms of proper.accounts, i only.had TSB to spare.and was advised to go with savers coz TSB should be avoided.
Im more upset that i paid last night.for 3 months mailbox rental.
Will ring bank again tomorrow or as GB says, wait a little longer.
Not sure whether i.can add another bank account and use.that to verify....only problem is that i.need to open a.new account |

Just ignored the direct debit part |

| ooooo.halo | 11-18-2014 05:49 PM | NATIONWIDE...apparantly no longer accepting codes on.savings accounts Hey....just phoned up and got my code.
Thought id let you know the conversation.
Set up paypal and used nationwide savers account. Got 1p deposit but no code.
Phoned bank tonight and told to.call back as codes can take a while longer to come through. This woman said that i should have used my current account for this purpose but i said it was the only card i had to hand when setting up paypal and didnt realise.
Anyway ive just called again and man was very pleasant and gave me code. He said i was lucky to have got him as others wouldnt have given me it. He said that they are now refusing codes from paypal from their savings accounts and will only give out codes for current accounts.
Thought id let you know :-) |

| ooooo.halo | 11-19-2014 09:12 AM | Re: nationwide savings Just had a call from nationwide from the original woman i spoke to. It was a.courtesy call with my paypal code.
Explained i called for it last night and asked.her about what the man.said and she explained it to me.
She said that you should only use current accounts for linking paypal. She said that usual procedure is that if you link it to a.savers account, they ignore it.
She explained that the man was right.and its at the discretion of bank worker whether they search for it.
With a.current account, its instantly put onto your internwt banking or accessible if callibg in but with a.savers it gets ignored and.goes back into the system. It can take ten mins for bank worker to.locate it, which i believe to be true coz man last night took ages, so she said it will be entirely up to the bank worker if they can be bothered to search.for it. She said the call centre is open 24 hrs a day so she said that coz i phoned outside of working hours, the bank worker probably had time on his hands.
Just thought id share that with you :-) |
Re: nationwide savings very interesting to know, thanks for reporting back Halo. I was thinking of adding some nationwide savers |

I certainly got the gist to ring for your code if you need to....late on the night when workers are less busy so they can search for it. They are open 24hrs a day, 7 days a week apparantly....only for.current account and savings account enquiries :-). | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:39 AM. | |
