PayPals new rules from

Can anyone tell me more about Paypals New rules due to come into force on 29 December 2014, is it linked to attempts to raise receiving limits/lift limitations?

I need to send in verification docs to lift my limit of £1900 bit worried as to what PayPal have now put onto place

Well it is looking very very likely that they are going to be running ID checks with outside linked agencies who can ensure that documents can be verified as belonging to real people who are on the electoral roll and maybe with credit reference agencies as well, it is most definately going to be much harder to convince them that we are who we say we are, the best thing we can do is keep coming back to this forum for updates on exactly what is happening and the steps we can take to go forward, any accounts created now and even listings going on ebay now are always just a step or a click away from being limited and never allowed back on, there is not enough information out there yet to know what can and cannot be done, so best to wait until we know more

A relative is at the same stage as you, having created their own stealth account and managed to survive to this limit, now submitting docs is going to be hard, a much bigger stumbling block potentially than it has ever been before, luckily there is very little money in the account, the time of year doesn't help as paypal and ebay would be much more cautious than ever without the additional ID checks that are appearing

ive a new stealth that was bought on here short while ago

have already sold a handful of cheap used items, got some feedback etc

got the 'docs' with it, but havnt uploaded them yet and havnt linked my bank acc yet either

im really hesitant to add my bank in case the account gos down quickly and then its just a waste of a new bank acc

advice please..

would you just completely hold off everything now for a while, don't upload docs, don't add bank, no more selling and wait it out til after 29th December

or should I upload the Docs now before 29th December and then do nothing else and wait....

There is a risk of it going down, if you submit what they are asking for you NEED to be prepared for the worst and potentially the issue of never seeing funds if they want certain documents before money is released

yes I am 'prepared fro the worst'

but what would be best to do as of now... upload the docs now or wait and upload them after 29th dec

are they still taking 30 days to verify them?

only a tiny amount in the paypal and wouldn't be bothered if lost it

That is a judgement call on your part.

I recommend for now either staying bellow the £1650 trigger per year or selling as close the the £1950(ish) limit as you can before submitting docs.

You will only be able to submit docs after the account has been verified, which you have to use a bank account to do.

My account is about 2 years old...not sold in massive amounts on it so did t get close to the £1900 limit, but now all this talk of PayPal using credit reference agencies or the electrol roll is a big downer.

Do you think my account will go through ok after sending in the docs?

What about the sellers here doing docs are they able to help find a work way around this?

does selling over 1k's worth of items with No Bank acc added and no 'id check' or docs upload done not raise Flags with ebay/pp?

also what about Active (not limited) accs that have already had docs submitted and received the email from PP saying they have Accepted them...

will these accounts go down on 29th dec or shortly after?

Really depends how fast you do it.

But what would be your plan to cash out the £1k without a bank account.

I would think there will be

None of us have crystal balls though so we will have to wait until the 29th to find out for sure :thumb:
