I can find no mention of online Savers. Which current account did you choose please?

Savings accounts are not the most suitable accounts to use for verifying details on paypal especially for new people just starting out with stealth accounts, as they reject the direct debit. Need to be removed at that point and then re added when first withdrawal is ready to be made.

Best accounts for linking to paypal are current accounts and basic accounts which are easy to get, Barclays, Santander and Co-op, are very easy to set up online without even needing to go into a branch.

As I said my account is over 20 years old, I opened it when I was 17, so it isn't a current account it is a card cash account, but a current account should allow you to do that anyway

Why would you need to remove it when it rejects the direct debit and reads it for 1st withdrawl, you are still able to withdraw even when it has rejected the direct debit?

That's the achnowledged way to get savings accounts working with paypal, like I said they are not ideal for linking to paypal it is always advised in this forum to go for bank basic or current accounts first, savings accounts should never be the first choice for verifying paypal.

I also thought this was the correct way in operating a savings account, wait for it to be rejected but still withdraw as normal. Can someone please explain this further?
