How long Paypal taking these days to verify docs....
 

How long are they taking these days?

Last time I sent in the docs had them verified within a few days.

Send them in last weekend, not had any response yet...

I have put my listings on hold until the verification is complete, do not want to get my funds stuck in.

It can take upto 5 weeks

If you just send them in when they don't ask - it takes around 6 weeks. If they demand them - 1 business day.

Took mine 4 or 5 days, though that was after they had requested them.

Thank you for the reply guys.

Got a response from them today and sadly it is bad news.

They said there is excessive risk involved with doing business with me and that they would like to begin parting ways, they will begin with a 6 month hold on my funds.(Luckily I stopped selling as soon as they requested the docs, there is only enough funds in there to cover the eBay invoice)

Disappointed, I have a feeling it is because of my shady photoshop skills, should have used one of the services available from the community sellers. (Having said that I have once before passed docs checks myself)

This was a top rated power seller account with 100% feedback and 500 selling limit.

I have another account heading the same way, wont make the same mistake with that one.

I had exactly the same email this morning - account suspended due to excessive risk involved... gutted... do you think its due to the review of the transactions ratehr than the documents???

Also can depend on WHAT you are selling and withdrawal frequency...quite a few factors

Can I just ask if any of you guys used a mail forwarder as your address to register with ?
As I found out the hard way its not good to use one.

For me I am pretty sure it is due to the documents and not any other factor.

I was selling very very low risk items and low value too.

Withdrawals were low amounts and not very often.

I have been waiting 8 weeks for docs to be accepted

Avoid calling! Get the wrong rep and you're finished. There's more bad reps than good, trust me I have a list!

On my 8th week too.

Would be disappointed if it takes more than 3 months

I'm just going to sit tight and wait.

I'll not post on here exactly how many sets I've got pending at the moment but it's a lot.

Strange, I sent some in and got them approved in five days, about two weeks ago.

This was post EU notification though.

There is always the possibility that they are changing their policy and are now only reviewing documents when the account passes £1650.

They are spouting some cr@p about the electronic check system not working properly for many weeks causing every account set up to be asked for documents. I just can't see how this can turn a 4 week wait into 11 weeks and counting. Are there really that many UK accounts being set up on a daily basis?

Agreed, more likely a policy change coming. A cull on their staffing numbers most probably.

Correct. Most are reviewed in 48 to 72 hours.

I've had a genuine set of docs waiting 10 days and it's VERY close to being limited for going over. Been getting the warning for past 2 weeks that i've received over £1650.

8 weeks from being over £1650?

Don't think it's anything to do with the £1650 if that's the case, more like once you actually hit the restriction mark.

Days of limits lifted accounts could be over, unless you hit £1650 then it will be lifted as long as all is in order - I will put it out there early on. At least I can say 'I told you so..' :)

It would explain that cull that happened after the split and most of the accounts looked like it was due to what was being sold.
