Adding an extra bank to paypal account problem
 

This is a working account with bank and card added and verified ok. But it seems every time we try to add an extra bank to this existing paypal account for the last 2 weeks we get the message, "The PayPal server is currently experiencing some difficulties. Please try again later or contact Customer Service. " .
Has anyone else had this problem please ?

Sometimes you need to phone to get a bank account added.

Why is it your trying to add a second bank account though?

the bank is a business bank account which will have to close soon.

So having a second bank in place was the idea. Ill be in a situation where i am unable to withdraw soon.

They can manually add in the account as this happened to me some months ago which took PP around 2/3 weeks to get fixed

Yes carried on as before with existing bank account.
Existing business bank account for ltd company. My intention was to add another bank account and try to change for ltd company to sole trader. Closing ltd company and using same ebay and paypal accounts as sole trader. On chat with accountant pal he said if you close a ltd company and or go dormant companies house send out bulletin in the London gazette and this is picked up buy all banks and institutions. The bank would close the ltd company bank account on seeing the closing ltd company notice. I also wanted to avoid calling paypal to add a bank account.
It was simpler to carry on as before. Too many things to juggle and unforseen dragons to slay. It would have not been a smart idea and easier to stay as we are for the sake of saving a sum of money that was not that significant. I appreciate the replies and help .

BTW i have had anoother stooge account abut 4 years old which i stopped using with a now defunct bank account. I tried to add a new bank account and got the the "server is not working contact customer service" message. So carefully prepared myself to make a phone call to paypal . Calling them and request adding a new bank accout worked ok so far. Now added new entropay card. Il uses this account again now for "get what you can" items. I guess ill get some funds hold on paypal and ebay etc.

i got my facts about the paypal account ready dates and stuff together with a clean (unused bank) logged on to paypal went to add bank it came back with server not working contact customer service.

I clicked on make the call thingy and it gave me a code to enter when asked on the actual call. I called the number and when answered the auto thingy asked me to speak what my problem was and I said "adding a bank". A live lady then answered and she asked what i wanted. i told her i need to add a bank but the server is down and she simply added it with no questions asked. I tried to be prepared for anything she might ask. She simply added the bank and done speedily.

I went on to a stealth account today and added a bank no problem no server problems. I'm going to use the existing bank to swap banks to First Direct and hopefully get £150. I have another dead bank account that I can switch to m&S and hopeful get £100 plus £120 in M&S vouchers , Good old moneysavingexpert website.

I contacted first direct and said i have a current account from Coventry building society (1 of 4 which i cannot use again)) will that work with your switch systems and the £150 through Martin Lewis site or the £125 through first direct site ? They said sorry the bank you switch from must be in this new switching system. Coventry BS are not in the system

So then i rang M&S bank and the lady said No as well but then she said let me contact our switching team and ask them to see if they can help you give us your number and they will call you back.

I had a call this morning t and the bloke said, on an adhoc basis at the discretion of the switching team can offer me the same without switching. and i have just completed an application for a current account on the phone (40 minutes they called me back) a successful application.

once the account is opened i set up 2 direct debits and they will send me a £100 m&s gift voucher. If £1000+ is put in each month after (just put in you can with draw it almost immediately) they will increase the gift voucher by £10 a month for 12 months.

The irony is that First direct and M&S bank both use HSBC
