Two things:

1. I have a fully verified PayPal with all limits removed. I'm trying to attached a brand new eBay to it but when I click 'Link PayPal Account', I'm taken to a page where they ask me to 'create' one.

Nowhere on the page can I sign in or say that I already have one!
Not urgent, but would still like to know how I can link the accounts.

2. I would like to retrieve my PP API credentials so I can set up payments on my website. I'm told my device cannot be recognized (suddenly???) and I'm given the option of a phone call with a PIN number.

I accept the option but receive no phone call. I try again, same thing. I've now apparently used up the amount of attempts at verifying with a phone PIN and I'm told that ownership of the account cannot be verified!

I've emailed but I have no idea what they'll ask of me now - if they respond at all. Is it likely to be a documents request? The account is still active, working and accepting payments from eBay.

:help:

Easiest option, call them.

For point 1, I have no idea. Either its a bug or you are not looking in the right place, when I set up my new eb.ay I was able to link an already existing PP to it with no issues. So it's either somewhere else or its broken. Answer? Call them.

Point 2, there must be an issue with the phone number you have registered, or you are not being patient enough. I've received calls from PP without requesting it (they can be nice and helpful occasionally) so the answer? Call them.

Call both, explain the problem you are experiencing, they will talk you through. :)

Re: Two things:

^ Thanks.

The first point is not urgent, I was as just curious. I may try again.

Regarding the API access, I received an email from PayPal this morning saying they had put an override on my account so I no longer need to verify anything. So it should work now but I've yet to test it.

I will post back :)

Too good to be true. Whatever override that was apparently put on my account hasn't worked. I still can't access my API credentials.

I've let them know. So now I wait :(

Re: Two things:

Link it from Paypal instead of ebay first up - when you get taken to that "new page" isnt there is small piece of writing near the top which says already a member or something of that nature that you click on?

I have encountered number 1 many times before.

You just need to go it a few days and try again. It usually sorts itself out.

Re: Two things:

I'm not that fussed about linking my PP to EB. I can use a CC to pay the fees.

Not having access to my API is what was bothering me, but I tried again the other day, and it suddenly works! Maybe the override he put on my account needed a day or so to kick in? But anyway, that's sorted now :)

The issue with not receiving PP's calls through my Soho number may have been due to the fact that it was an automated message from PayPal rather than a human being (that's what Soho's excuse was anyway...)

Load of rubbish. A call is a call, irrespective whether it's a human or a human recording at the end of the line.

I've had several issues taking calls from paypal lately, on voipfone and my actual landline.
