Help, followed all the steps & paypal limited me

Hi, I completed all the steps to confirm paypal, I was waitng for the small amounts to be deposited when I received an email saying accout limited & requesting me to send ID.

I covered all the steps correctly, IP, Tel, New install on pc, diff bank & add on top of that the new ebay refused to let me sell until I verify paypal.

Sorry I edited the posts I had to add infor I forgot to include in the original post

Did you receive a notice on why the limitation? They just want an ID?

Your eBay and PayPal account had the same name, address, etc on them?

Which bank did you use?

GreenBean 02-19-2009 12:48 AM

All UK ebay sellers accounts must have a verified paypal account for selling purposes. Did
that bank account have a Direct Debit mandate? Did you do anything else like change name/address/IP on that paypal account?. as aspkin said did the paypal name match the ebay name? 'Cos if it did not part of the problems

bumblebee 02-19-2009 02:49 AM

Yes the names matched, I think its must be the bank I think it must share info, the bank account is a new current acc with direct debit facility so shouldnt have been a problem, I didnt change any info on the pp account since opening it. Everything went smoothly until I started the direct debit setup. I hadnt received any payments since ebay wouldnt let me sell. I hade done the credit card verification & telephone verification successfully

PS, they didnt give any reason except for my safety they screen account activity....., what activity? & the bank is Lloyds TSB

GreenBean 02-19-2009 02:57 AM

Aye, there are banks reported in the UK that exchange info with paypal.:tears:

Since you are likely going to start again (gotta beat ebay!!!) Maybe you might like to change the order in what you do?
I do VCC 1st, then paypal & get that verified. When paypal is set, I make the
ebay account with a name to match paypal. OK, this does take a few days to
happen but I find less problems.

GB, when you say banks exchange info with paypal, do you mean they tell paypal whose name the bank account is in, or something else?

Which banks, Ive tried Llyods, no probs.

GreenBean 02-19-2009 06:16 AM

Banks have given account details to paypal, yes. llyods is one of the banks I am aware of doing this.:tears:

Lloyds definately must have given the info because I followed the guide & info on the forum carefully, their is no info that could have linked me to a previous account & all the processes eg phone verification/card expuse number was successful it was the last step with getting the bank account confirmed that caused this. on top of that I hadnt been suspended from paypal ever, I created the new paypal because of the problem with shxtbay:fight: so why would paypal get suspicious.

Because like GreenBean said they give your info, besides lloyds is dodgy anyway so even though they arent supposed to im sure they do, lloyds does anyway. look at what lloyds did with transferring money from banned us countries into the usa.

If you dont get banned using a lloyds account it could just be luck that paypal didnt bother to ask for further info but the fact with lloyds is that if paypal wanted they could get this information thanks to lloyds.
