PayPal - Bank acc / Balance
 

Hi Guys,

I messed up and paid for postage when I had no funds in my PayPal account. The funding source was a bank account I attached under a different name.

Is my account now toast? Haven't received any notifications yet. I would just like to know if its worth continuing with this account or to just trash it.

It wont limit the account, but the bank account may well get removed

To add the bank account again you would need to phone PayPal

Thought Jimmy was a nickname for the name James ?

Anyway Andywtf, Paypal wont see your real name unless they do a manual review on your Paypal account.

Hi All,

Here's the outcome of the issue;

Email from Paypal -
fund your payment to eBay Intl AG. This failed because your bank account was closed. As a result, we've disabled that bank account from use on your PayPal account.

And now my Paypal balance is in the red.

The bank account that I was using was under a different name and is a Barclays saver account. To my knowledge its still open as I have funds still available within in it!!

So all seems well, although I think a manual review my **** me over.

So, PayPal are saying your bank account is closed but in fact it's open.

It's probably because they've tried to take it via DD and your saver doesn't accept DD's.

...and a bank account under a different name? :shocked:

Its actually because they tried to fund the ebay payment. Since it didn't work out they remove it from paypal. The bank of course will still be open.

I read somewhere that if you transfer money from the Bank Account to the PayPal account the bank will tell PayPal the name on the account.
Could someone confirm or refute this for me ?

You cannot send money from your bank account to PayPal

You can withdraw money from PayPal to a bank account though (unless its a bank like Lloyds or TSB)

So, Leaving out Lloyds/TSB what Bank would you recommend ?

Any movement of funds from your bank account to PayPal, i.e. instant bank transfers when paying for items will reveal the name of the account holder to PayPal.

Whilst this is not an automatic link, a manual review by PP can give away your real name.

Basically, just withdraw funds to bank account, don't move funds any other way.
