NEW security measure by PAYPAL!!!
 

I got this message below as soon as I logged into my PP acct.
Has anyone encountered this before? Any tips before i leap?

Important notice to all PayPal users

PayPal is always looking for ways to keep you safer and offer more protection for your account.

As of 31st March 2009, you can no longer use the last four digits of your bank account or card number to identify yourself to PayPal Customer Services. Instead, when you call us you’ll be asked for a Secure Web PIN before we can provide information on your account. So your details are even more protected.
Spot Verification
Getting your Secure Web PIN is easy:

1. Before you call us, log in to your PayPal account at Welcome - PayPal
2. Go to ‘Contact Us’ at the footer of the page and then click ‘Call Us’
3. On this page you’ll find your Secure Web PIN, which is valid for one hour

You also have the option to create your own personal Customer PIN, which you can use time and time again. In your Account Overview, go to ‘Profile’ and select ‘Identification Preference’ in the list.

I didn't realize that was a new thing.

Any time I remember calling PayPal in the last year or so they've asked for the web pin. Which was no big deal since I had to log into my account to get their number anyway.

Happened to me today. I have 21 day hold, but I shipped Saturday, entered tracking into PP, logged into Ebay to check on another auction going on and saw I already received the feedback as seller received the item this morning. Than I went into PP to see if they lifted the hold, but it was still there. Than I checked the tracking info in PP and it still showed "In Process", not "delivered and signed". So I was going to call PP to lift the hold because I have feedback received, and there was that PIN number good for an hour. I decided not to call, but when I logged in again 1 hour later tracking was updated showing that item was received and signed for at 9am this morning. However, Hold still on......I am waiting for another hour or so and will check again. If they are still holding my money after tracking shows delivery and positive feedback received, what should I do? I am scared they will limit me or do something bad just because I received some money into my account.... I don't even dare to call them....jeeezzzzz

It can take as long as 3 days before they release your money on a 21 day hold after the requirements are met.

that doesnt seem like anything major. it sounds like the same thing as when ebay doesnt recognize your computer and they call you and give you the pin and you type it in.

this isn't new, I dealt with that in February... I'll never call them again.
