Can you make new eBay account without Paypal?

I want to make a new legit (non-stealth) eBay account, but without Paypal. I'm not fully clear on where eBay is with Managed Payments right now. Do you still need an invitation? If I sign up for eBay today, can I just go with Managed Payments and avoid Paypal?

if you want to use MP,you have to sign up first.

You will have to have an invite from eBay. If you sign up a new account you will have to have PayPal for payments from your sales
