Delay in Manage Payment Approval
 

Has anyone else experienced this?

I signed up for MP a week ago. All it says is late July they will get back with me. How do I get approved right away?

Can anyone else explain what their experience was in how long they had to wait for MP to be added to their account?

I did not create it. An old friend of mine made it for me. Good guy.

I currently cannot sell on ebay because I'm waiting for MP approval. This account has a listing limit of 350,000 items and 7 million $ per month. I purchased it recently.

I do not want to risk screwing anything up on this account for obvious reasons....I don't want to use paypal at all on this one.

Can anyone explain how they were able to use MP? Right now I don't see how to speed up the process. :noidea:

I got in within 1 day but I went through the application last year. I would imagine they're backed up right now because of covid and the way they're now forcing sellers to apply.

Do you mean, while you are waiting for approval by MP, you still can sell by PayPal? OP just said he can not sell anymore on ebay when he is waiting for approval.

Lol still no invite on both my accounts hopefully I never get one. I think MP AND PP will be used in ebay there just not telling anyone that.

Lol, that's not the plan. Paypal was integrated into MP last year so Paypal will always be allowed FOR BUYERS. Not for sellers. The whole reason they're making this switch is so they can have more control over their marketplace.. so it wouldn't make sense for them to continue allowing a 3rd party payment processor.

Just to update:

Still no response from ebay after my MP registration.

Anyone sign up recently?

My understanding is that the people applying now won't be let in until July at the soonest.

eBay customer service is nonexistent at the moment so there's most likely nothing you can do but wait.

phazOrz is correct. You are only pre-registering for a MP account between now and July 15th. It's Ebay's way of rounding up a bunch of peeps at once to launch at the end of July.
This is a different approach as they have used in the past whereas they have invited people to sign up and go through the process individually.

I wonder what happens if you don’t register by July 15th? Do they suspend your account until you register for managed payments....

I don't think they'll suspend accounts, however I'm guessing that accounts simply will no longer be able to sell.
They'll be a whole lot of information about this on July 16th.

From what I'm reading MP will be on all accounts in late July but from your post it seems like it's going to be delayed when they require everyone to switch over. Hopefully that's the case.

You can request it to be switched over manually. That's what my friend did but I haven't received any invites or switched over any of my accounts yet.
