New email for managed payments.

Just received this email from eBay. Makes it sound like my current listings will still be available if I do not sign up for managed payment. I doubt it though.

This is your third reminder that your account will be enabled in late July, and you must register by July 15th. If you miss the registration deadline, the ability to create new listings will be interrupted. eBay already manages payments for thousands of sellers. Time’s flying by and you only have four weeks left to register.

Re: New email for managed payments.

My money is on eBay not wanting a massive drop-off in listing volume on July 15th because it looks very bad on paper to stockholders. So they're taking the slow-burn method of applying pressure by making things increasingly difficult instead of trying to force everyone at once and facing the backfire. :noidea:

This sounds good for me. I haven't made new listings in over a year on 2/3 of my accounts.

and this is the third reminder from Ebay.

They say Paypal now whether you're using MP or Paypal, bc Paypal is an option for all buyers.

Email makes it seem like existing listings accepting Paypal will be left alone for now and you'll just lose the ability to create new listings until you register for MP.

I have a similar situation. I am really hoping this is what it actually means. I will be a guinea pig for this and let everyone know what happens when I do not sign up.

The only thing you can do at the moment is ignore it if you want to go stealth or you can just come "clean" so to speak , of you really want mp.

Weird thing in the wording, is that they have "1000's" of sellers. So, like .1% of the 25,000,000 sellers are currently using managed payments? I doubt they'll end the listings of millions of sellers.

I doubt it as well, but it also wouldn’t surprise that much if me if they did. I expect there will be harder and harder warnings to force more and more people to sign up before they start to end listings. They will first atop new listings being made, then current listings from being edited, then drop listings in the search rankings before outright ending listings

Did you use genuine or hooky details?

Stealthzadar 06-27-2020 09:09 PM

Re: New email for managed payments.

This is what they did with the VAT restriction blockage, so it's what I expect they will do with this.

You could still sell, but when the quantity expired, add a VAT number (or deal with in another way to have it removed) otherwise your listings sell out and remain that way.
