Are all US sellers required to be on MP by December 31?
 

My main account got the "invite" first week of December.

Are there any US accounts that aren't on MP and still have not been invited to join MP by year end?

Can new accounts register without MP on January 1?

Interesting... I called ebay customer service and the agent told me every US seller was required to be on MP by Dec 31 because the contract with PayPal apparently ends then. But he's not a supervisor (it seems like eBay outsources its CS to the Philippines or somewhere in that part of the world)

You are not required to be on it by December 31st. And new accounts aren't required for MP either on January 1st. Why would they force new sellers, but not retroactively force even the older casual sellers first? It's too early, mid-year things might change. But, we'll see where it goes.

My understanding is that they won't be done until sometime next year. I believe everyone on the latest wave of "invites" have to be, but they will continue "inviting" sellers through next year and processing in batches until everyone is done.

I have 30+ accounts and received 2 invites. none of my current 3 top rated accounts were invited, and all 3 sell adult items.

i also wanted to know if i was to create a new ebay/paypal stealth, woould ebay force me to sign up for managed payments? i dont want to waste a new phone line and bank account if its going to fail.
might have to just do it and see what happens. good luck everyone

I noticed that during holidays when I was very active that week I got invited and my selling limits went up and month later they give me date when I cant list new auctions.

There have been no reports of new accounts being required to sign up for managed payments yet.

So on the account I had the dec 31st deadline I got an email they extended it to Jan 20th. I wonder how many accounts do not sign up and just stop selling.

Managed payments isn't being rolled out as fast as they want, they are running into issues with disbursements,i follow on other social media and people complain. I really don't see this being mandatory for new sellers at all this year. At least not from the start

So based on all my conversations with the reps the plan was for everyone to be on it at earliest July 2021 and latest is March 2022 .

Obviously this is not concrete but I was told of these dates over and over again.

At some point they will see that a lot of these seller accounts are not signing up for MP and just stopped selling. I have 7 that I will be not signing up and not selling anymore on. I have about 30 steah accounts I hope they slow down because those 7 accounts happened within a couple of weeks.

Negative. Per the agreement, eBay was only allowed to migrate 10% of it's business over to Adyen by around the middle of 2020.

That agreement has expired, now, but they still have a LONG way to go to get everyone moved over. Maybe by the end of 2021...
