Mismatch names on MP bank accounts.
 

Hello All.

I have a dilemma that I'm sure many others have as well.
When registering for managed payments, what info does ebay have access to?
Can one use a bank account with mismatch information?

If possible, it is by manually adding account/routing number by clicking "bank
is not listed" then confirming with micro-deposites.

To anyone with experience, is this a sustainable, long term way to run an account on MP? Will you be linked as soon as you get a chargeback?

I have read many threads about this topic with conflicting information so let's
all come to a final say here.

I've been using a mismatched bank account on my stealth MP since November 2020 with no issues.

Use the manual method.

Can anyone chime in when it is time for the 1099k and the tax is issued to a stealth name but eBay has your real bank account on file.

Can the IRS go after you for this? or since it is under bogus stealth info that the tax form will go to nobody?

Just avoid getting a 1099 in the first place.

Really?

1099 threshold is $20k

$20,000 X 100 = $2,000,000

There is no way you're pulling in $2 million in revenue from eBay on stealth accounts.

High street banks usually don't have issues with mismatched name, and some EMI like Revolut.

The threshold is being lowered to $600 as per the COVID act.

It doesn't have to be bogus info as that probably wouldn't work for MP to start with. Suppose you use a family member or relitives information.

How could one file under your own name instead of the one assosiated with eBay?

No problems with me and stealth under managed payments since last May. Mismatch name with WF bank. No probs.

My second stealth ebay is under a stealth LLC. So no issues there either.

By stealth do you mean it's made with a friends info? or did you just submit your real info on a previous stealth account?

Also how did you create an account using an LLC? I thought SSN was required no matter what.

I did $1.2 million last year with all stealth accounts and i'm sure there are sellers here doing more. I'm using 20-25 accounts but about 75% of my sales come from 6 stores which are all under managed payments now and i had to use ALL my real info. Name, address, ss#. It's a ticking time bomb! I fear if i get 1 account suspended they will all go down.

That's impressive. I dont get the sellers who are complacent with successfully registering for mp when ebay can still kick them off at any moment.

I feel like any moment can be my last selling on ebay. They change the rules and my source of income can be gone from one day to the next. So i don't ever get complacent. For every store i have to convert to MP i open 3 new stores. If i had the certainty that i could sell on ebay for the next 20 years i would probably take it easy. But for now i work my ass off. Because in my case, making almost 10 times the average american income yearly isn't guaranteed tomorrow. Never want to go back to making $15 an hour for the man.
