My Registration Process
 
So I signed up today. I received the following message,

"Thank you for your interest in managed payments. We have received your information. We'll send you a notification two weeks before your account is activated for managed payments, and again two business days before activation. We will also send a confirmation notice after activation is complete."

I am now able to edit/revise listings. I am not activated yet, I don't believe.

My process was using a real business account on eBay. I selected single member LLC, and provided real EIN, all real details including SSN. I had to manually enter my bank info because out of all banks HSBC has a separate login URL so I couldn't link it instantly. I'll have to provide a statement at some point which is fine.

Key things I've noticed, under my stealth name the address was changed to my work address. The actual stealth name was not changed. But it does show "stake holder" with my real name. So its a very obvious mismatch I suppose if someone wanted to really look into the account. Based off everything I have read this is the only working solution, so I just hope all is fine.

I will keep this updated once my account is activated, and if/when I get the bank statement request. :spy:

Update:

Its been 6 days since I set up managed payments and FINALLY I got my activation email. Not going to copy and paste everything but here is the first part,

"Thanks for registering to have eBay manage your payments! You will soon be joining hundreds of thousands of sellers globally whose payments are managed by eBay. As we continue to modernize our platform, managing payments is critical in that transformation. We appreciate your support in the journey."

Some additional things......

I have already contacted merchant support numerous times over the past few days. This is higher end customer support, it is NOT general support where you request a call back. When calling merchant support they ask for my name, address, and phone number to verify me. I give them my stealth name and newly updated address every single time. I've not had one issue so far.

That tells me whatever verification they see does not include my "stake holder information" or they simply do not think its a problem. I do think this is pretty important to consider because assuming they see that information, they would clearly see two different names, one as my registered name, and one as my true identity under the stake holder.

Well I just moved $30,000 last month in sales... I'd consider my account "high risk" in terms of verifying information. Maybe they don't, no idea.
