When will MP ask for full SSN
 

I have converted one account to MP. It went fine but I am still waiting for the results of the micro deposits to know for sure. Did get congrats message.

I used a real last 4 SSN and DOB. But I am wondering at what point will MP ask for full SSN? Would it be after $600 for 2022 IRS 1099 requirements or 20/$25k for 2021 IRS 1099 requirements. After a defect? Or after X number of sales or $$? Or is it totally random?

Anyone who has been on MP for some time might be able to provide some insight on what if anything happened to their MP account(s).

MP seems to be so new that people are just trying to figure it out, They probably will ask for the full info at some point but so many people (think foreign born) in the US dont have a SS number I see that as a big problem for Ebay. Asking for the SS number seems like a dumb idea for ebay and will make them lose customers, I think alot of people wont want to give that info out to sell those pez dispensers or grandmas old bloomers from the attic

I dont understand how Ebay would ask just the last 4 digits of SSN with personal account,

The moment you hit 20k and 200 transactions you wont be able to collect any more funds until you supply tax details. If you upgrade to a business and give them an EIN, you will never have to give a full SS number.

but for personal accounts,they need full SSN to send 1099k?

Im just unsure for the multiple ebay accounts with the same real info will it flag accounts

they should ask for SSN Before hitting 20k and 200 transactions,once it hits that target,it would have to send one copy of 1099K to IRS,and it cant do that with just 4 digits.
