1099k Sent to Account Owner's Info
 

Hi,

Looks like the 1099k got sent to the account owner of which I am not in contact with anymore.

What are my options in this case? Is there any way at all to somehow put this income into my own personal tax return?

Or is my best bet to just leave it and hope for the best.


This goes the same for the banned account that I had before MP and it won't allow me to change the information since the account was banned. Which meant the 1099k went to that person instead.

Their SSN too?


Edit: I just don't get it. I just checked and all of my 2021 1099's have my LLC name, real address, and my EIN. This has to come down to some kind of difference in the way we signed up for MP.

Well..... you had the option to switch to paperless 1099k for the past several months. You Also could have added an EIN to the account before the first of the year....


So you make a bunch of accounts in someone else's name..... then you come here the last weeks of December, ask a bunch of questions and don't take any action? Then come here a month later with a big, "Hey, I used other peoples identity, screwed them over even though I learned how to fix it a month ago, Can i do it now that it is too late?


Why waste peoples time? Why waste your own time?

If they really were old friends info and not some random persons you "used", you truly are a horrible old friend. If it is a random persons info that is alive and well, jerks like you make the rest of us look bad. Thanks Pal lol

I'm not fully awake yet, and haven't thought this through... but if I ever got a 1099 for over $20,000 in SOMEONE ELSE'S sales, I'd be looking into filing identify theft/fraud charges or some sh1t. Zero chance of me paying taxes on that sh1t.

If there is an EIN on the account it shouldn't matter if a paper 1099 was mailed to some random person. Just use your digital copy of the 1099 for your accounting.

Otherwise, it's just straight up fraud and I must not have fully understood your setup when I answered your questions a few weeks ago.


Still can't understand what you did wrong, lol. I got worried when I read your thread this morning so I went and checked my 2021 1099's and they're all as I was expecting them to be. :noidea:

He used his "friends" SS number and name and no longer has contact with them and evidently cant even locate the person.

He never changed the account to EIN..... So he just stole someones ID or bought it from that MM douche canoe on here and never changed the details when he needed to, BUT still comes here bitching and winning about it. OR he really is a horrible "friend"

Actually just resolved it. Found a solution.
