Anyone still in 2022 using only last 4 ssn on Ebay single member LLC account?
 

Wondering if anyone is successfully in 2022 using only last 4 of ssn on single member LLC ebay account and then just added the full EIN in business info slot?

I wanted to do this for family members to make absolutely sure no tax 1099k ever gets released in their name /ssn but only on my EIN.

well... if you add the EIN number and it passes the IRS then it will go to the EIN. The SS number is irrelevant.

So long as it lets you add it yes that does work as far as I am aware but it is ever changing.

If you add an EIN as a SMB LLC, Ebay/Paypal etc is going to request your SSN. I`ve said this time and again. With the new $600 threshold, platforms have no room for error in terms of reporting. Aged or new sellers who are using EIN`s with single member LLC`s and haven`t elected to be taxed as an S-corp are going to run into problems with platforms. If you are a disregarded entity, platforms are required to use your SSN not your EIN for federal reporting. This has always been the requirement but with a 200/20K cushion most platforms looked the other way. That`s not going to happen any longer.
