ebay pulling a fee payment from bank account bad?

So, my understanding is that ebay can see name and address on your bank account only when PULLING funds, not when you PUSH funds.

So, with a stealth account, where you got past bank account verification, what happens if you have no balance to be paid out to you when ebay wants to get paid for listing fees etc? On a new account this seems likely... I think you can check for a balance owed and PUSH payment before you let them PULL payment and be ok, but if you ever miss that are you burned?

Worse, if you opt for an ebay store, I assume they invoice for the store fees right before PULLING payment for it if you dont have a balance... so in that case you wouldnt even have a window to PUSH the payment?

Any insight here would be appreciated.

Pushing funds (i.e. sending) will show name of the account - not the address of the sender.

One way of avoiding is to prepay the balance with a vcc or other card

Right but my question is, with an ebay store, is there even an opportunity to prepay the balance? Dont they invoice and pull on the same day?

There wouldn't be any issues with them pulling a payment from your bank account. I can't give you an explanation as to why but I can tell you from experience that it won't cause issues.

In managed payments though they very rarely, if ever, dip into your bank account though since most payments are pulled from your pending payouts.

Thank you, and not to kick a dead horse, but I am wondering if they PAY your balance before taking FEE payment same day... IE forcing a pull because they clear your balance first... but now that I think about it that would seem like a pretty convoluted process.... to have the money you owe them, push it to you, then pull some back.. Never had an ebay 'shop' so sorry for the potentially obvious question.

I can say for certain that all final value fees/processing fees are taken out as buyers pay, before any money is made available to you.

Other things like store subscriptions I'm not sure how they handle. I think they use your pending payouts for any money owed and only attempt to charge your card or bank account (you can specify which one) if you don't have enough in pending payouts to cover it.

Set your account to weekly disbursements (better still fortnightly or monthly) and the shop fee will almost certainly be covered. If it's not then you're doing something wrong. Of course this doesn't cover for the eventuality of a charge just after the disbursement has been made but it lessens the likelihood.

If you use daily disbursements where you're effectively running a zero balance then any non-sales costs and refunds will be recovered from your bank account almost immediately.

You can choose to have a card charged if it's more convenient/feels less risky for you.
