Default Ebay sales way down?

Is it just me, or are ebay sales way down, like extremely sporadic. One day a few items will sell, then for 2-5 days, nothing. This on a 400+ feedback mp account. Perhaps the economic situation is worse than we are being told! Of those who do but, lots of questions about warranty, returns and just hard times overall.

sales is down everywhere, brick and mortar stores like WMT,TGT have tons of inventory to unload.
Cost of everything has gone up,AMZN prime is now $139,USPS will raise rate for this holiday shipping, used cars cost more,so insurance cost more, houses cost more, food cost more.
Ebay is also known to rotate sellers,so everyone has a chance of selling something

Watched sales get cut in half around the first Fed Rate rise. I personally think we are in a mild recession, as the consumer quit spending on the cost of gas, and the rate rise that month.

Stock market first. Then housing 6-18 months later. But yes, housing is slowly crashing in many places. Rapidly crashing in many cities.

You are correct. It doesn't help - I just saw where ebay lost like 15 million buyers the last year, this combined with existing economic issues make sales this season very difficult. It has to be one of the slowest holiday seasons yet. Price drops seem to have no effect, the views just aren't there. I agree that items that people must have are a better shot than luxury or nice-to-have items now, they just aren't selling.

This is the worst Xmas I have ever experienced in all my years of selling online.
They are buying wool sweaters, shoes if they are cheaper than stores.
gold is going up,in the past they want to buy gold, now they are just buying food ,clothes.

Yes, just an update - I have never seen it this bad all the decades I have been on egay. This Christmas sales were pretty much non-existent, and since Thanksgiving it has been dismal.ay have to supplement income elsewhere if this continues, something is really wrong

It turns out that many sellers are paying extra to have their items visible during Xmas,so my shop did not get much sale,a few low priced items.
Now Xmas is over,I am getting good orders, high $$ ones.( I think they are resellers, not consumers)

It is not just you guys, but people on the eBay forums as well complaining about lack of sales.

It is because of eBay's BS bots and search functions that they messed up.

They are now switching to pay grocery with Buy now pay later.

I have noticed a very small uptick on lower priced items beginning to move, but still nothing like the levels it was before Thanksgiving. It's like it all went downhill right before Thanksgiving and never recovered. These days I'm sure we are lucky to get what we can.

And those layoffs, today it is Wayfair and Macy, thousands of workers plus store closing.
Citicorp will layoff 20,000 worldwide by the time it is done.

People are still buying, it is just eBay's search and the tweaks they made are making low sales.

I am still making sales via etsy, Amazon and Mercari. There is certain products I can offload better on eBay though.
