Does eBay count the middle initial on a US driver's license as part of the first name

I know Binance.us when they were still around would consider a middle initial on a driver's license as part of the first name.
For example, driver's license says:
JOHN A
SMITH

Do they count the "A" as part of first name or as middle initial?

No, middle would be initial.

I never include it either way
