| | | brocoli | 11-16-2023 03:41 PM | Listing Is Live But Not Searchable or Getting Traffic I created a stealth account and listed an item for sale the same day. No limitations at all and listing has remain live for going on 7 days now. However when ever I check for traffic it says 0 clicks, and when I try searching for the listing on a different PC it does not show. I though maybe waiting a few days would do the trick but now Im starting to think the listing will be like this for some time now. I dont want to contact support unless my account is limited and I have no other choice but to do so. What do you think? I haven't been on ebay since the good ole days. Is this common, is it strange? |
| degsey69 | 11-16-2023 07:34 PM | Re: Listing Is Live But Not Searchable or Getting Traffic Try promoting the item if it’s buy now. Also try and use similar listing titles as others who are selling the same item and rank high in the search. |
| Automasters | 11-16-2023 08:55 PM | Re: Listing Is Live But Not Searchable or Getting Traffic I was gonna say, this looks very similar to a previous question on the forum by someone else - the jist of it was they listed an item but had no views and it was not showing up in search. To make a long story short, the listing just needed to age and was eventually merged into the search results... |

| brocoli | 11-17-2023 09:34 AM | Re: Listing Is Live But Not Searchable or Getting Traffic So 6 days later and the listing is finally visible on the marketplace. I'm still trying to go promote the listing as recommended but I can't seem to find a "promote this item" link anywhere. So what do I do? I contact support and this is there response: "Upon checking, since you're a new seller you still have to meet the requirements to be eligible to do promoting listing. Which is 25 sales & 90 Days"
Interesting! |
| degsey69 | 11-17-2023 07:28 PM | Re: Listing Is Live But Not Searchable or Getting Traffic It is a slow and gradual process building the account to attract sales. |

Interesting! | Nice clarification - seems like a manual person has taken look at your account |
| brocoli | 11-19-2023 01:22 PM | Re: Listing Is Live But Not Searchable or Getting Traffic It's kind of strange, now it's got me scratching my head wondering "What's happened to eBay?"
The item listed for sale is a PC, well below market value I checked my competition on the site and I'm hoovering next to the lowest for this model. Yet the listing is still saying 0 views. If I remember correctly for the PC category this would be at least 25-100 views by now were it 5 years ago.
Did eBay receive a huge audience decline or something? I know a lot of seller accounts got kicked around the time they introduced Managed Payments but sheeesh. This don't feel right |

| agent006140 | 11-20-2023 06:00 PM | Both Ebay and AMZN are known to rotate listings and hide listings.
In fact an AMZN seller was threatened by an AMZN exec that he could make his listing invisible.
Once a seller called Ebay and asked why he has no sales for days,Ebay said be patient, your turn will come.
People are not buying much,I am always amazed how they go thru my shop and pick on the lowest price item?
PC are heavy,shipping is a load !
try laptop |

It’s response for retrieval of items. So when he says your turn won’t come, he means that ebay likes to shuffle listing that are identical or very much the same. Otherwise if a buyer search PC and gets shown the same pc 10x they will say ebay doesn’t have any inventory and move on, so that aids to a BBE.
Promoted Listings have already been confirmed to rotate, but I believe the search is similiar |
| brocoli | 11-22-2023 03:21 PM | Re: Listing Is Live But Not Searchable or Getting Traffic Yeah this sucks, and it's a laptop not a PC thats my bad, a Lenovo Chromebook to be specific again things like this should atleast be at 100 views by now, but nope the listing still only have 1 view. I'm convinced the algorithim shows people different results at different times, possible based on location and seller ranking, etc. Who knows |

That would give a good metric wether its showing or not | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 02:18 PM. | |
