User never signs for package

Anyone know the drill for a customer who never signs for a package and it has been a month since the purchase?

agent006140 03-31-2024 12:41 PM

Does the value of the package require signature confirmation to qualify for seller protection?
does the tracking shows delivered?

never sign package does not mean it has not been delivered.
if buyer has not complained so far,may be he has the package.
CARRIER sometimes will forget to ask the recipient to sign.

marking it sent when payment made is not going to help the seller if the seller protection requires signature confirmation.
A few tips which may help-
- if you are printing shipping label with signature confirmation online, use a red marker and circle the part which said signature confirmation on the label.so the postman will notice.
- attach a paper signature confirmation slip ,you can get them in the post office, just in case ,so now you have 2 confirmations.
- once it is delivered and signed for,go to USPS website and print the confirmation page ,you should see the signature of the person who signed for the package.
- the reason why you print a copy is that that page may not be available after xx days
Ebay and Paypal do have rules on what happens if the buyer does not pick up the package or reroute the package etc,

During COV 19 breakout,USPS carrier would not come to your door and ask you for signature confirmation .
AMZN Blue Care driver usually take a picture of the package by your door,so if it is stolen,it is not their fault

USPS holds the package for a month?

These days, stealing package from the porch is no big deal, they are actually robbing stores.
Big stores like BBY,HD,LOWE have told the employees not to go after them as they have guns, but there is way for the police to track and found them after they left the store.
I heard no restaurants and stores are safe in Oakland,Ca and downtown San Fran/
Someone just shot a Chipotle worker in MiCHIGAN over guacomole?

You mean you the seller SCHEDULED REDELIVERIES?
Can the seller do so?I thought only the recipient can schedule redelivery?

USPS will tape the notice to the door and it gets blown away, sometimes they leave it in your mail box,I have neighbors who never bother to check mail?

Are you saying it's still in the hands of the courier? If so, can you not arrange re-delivery if it's not already on its way back to you which it will surely be after a month.

If eBay US operate the same as the UK, which I assume they do, then if it's on its way back to you it is deemed as not delivered and they will win a 'not received' dispute.

If it's a high value item which required a signature for eBay seller protection and the courier didn't get it then a scammy buyer who knows this could jerk the system and wrongly claim from eBay on a technicality and leave you arguing the issue with your courier.

All speculation without more info.

Re: User never signs for package

I have sold high value products and it has happened to me that they do not sign for the delivery.
and unfortunately the cases that were opened with that product were those who signed the product..
In this case, simply whether you sign it or not does not necessarily mean that you are signed.
If you want, write when purchased and mark item sent

correct - sometimes they will just drop off the package and wont have the signature - but they will mark it as delivered - it happens

Re: User never signs for package

USPS, UPS and DHL should be more aware of this and require their staff to deliver and the person to sign.
It is also happening a lot that in California they are stealing products from homes much more than before, it has happened to many clients and I ask them for a police uniform and send it

Was it just being held at the post office?

Automasters 04-06-2024 03:34 PM

Re: User never signs for package

Yes, they left two notices at their residence after I the seller scheduled deliveries. It was then held at their local USPS where they picked it up FINALLY

Yes I am the seller and because the buyer had ghosted me for weeks I rescheduled with USPS to try to redeliver twice. I was expecting an item not received case but am glad it was signed for finally.

It's great that your client signed it and everything is working out, sometimes we just have to wait?
Should I leave feedback on your account?

That's stressful. This only happened to me once in my selling career.

The other one time the item got held for only 2 weeks then post office returned it.
