| | | | INSTANTLY & Permanently suspended... I'm in the USA, a 72 year old professional, I set up an ebay account with my own info, home address, and my phone on my account.
I looked at a few photo albums (the older kind you put family photos in) a couple of days ago, didn't buy anything, today I looked a little more, and then listed a lead pencil that artists use for special drawing, they sell for around $16-$22 when they surface (it's an older discontinued style pencil).
Instantly I got an email that my account is PERMANENTLY suspended. No "call us and confirm" type messages, no "we need to verify" like most of the forums say...
Does anyone know what the reason for this could be? I'm not linked to any other account, I bought my phone and computer brand new a couple years ago, I never sold anything or bought anything or even communicated with another member.
If anyone has an idea what could have caused this I would be very interested to know, I used my home internet, no VPN or anything, no extra software, and nothing was a high risk category.
I am happy to answer any questions as well. I'm really puzzled because I have excellent credit, nothing at all that anything could be linked to (like a bankruptcy, kids having had an account and did something or anything like that.) I'm totally puzzled. I even called in and he read the script about "saftey of our community we will no longer being doing business with you..." etc.
Thank you!
Edit: This computer is an iMac and actually isn't new, it came from an office next door to us (another business) a couple of years ago, but has been completely reset to factory settings, and I use Google Chrome.
Also, there is no opportunity to verify anything, they wont let me chat in the Ebay window, I don't have access to my account information or anything. This is a hard, permanent suspension, no discussion, they won't even let me send in my DL or anything. They clearly don't even want to waste time with me about anything at this point. I can't imagine what I might have done that made them this harsh this fast. It was definitely triggered automatically because it happened the moment I went to start a second listing. |
Re: INSTANTLY & Permanently suspended... Welcome to the forum OP - all the best as you master stealth :thumb:
what kind of phone number did you provide |
| degsey69 | 05-01-2024 08:49 AM | Re: INSTANTLY & Permanently suspended... First I would call to appeal their decision, they may ask you to verify your ID and then reinstate the account. Alternatively you could just make a new account, my wife's account was suspended just like yours and I waited a couple of days and applied for a new one which was allowed to sell.
This is not unusual and quite the norm for eBay and if your details are correct and you have not had a previous account banned from selling you will succeed in the end. |

Regular Verizon cell phone number. |

Is the account secret?
Is the account personal?

In both cases, when you call eBay or chat with them, they will ask for a driver's license, bank statement or proof of address.
If it is your account and you have not created another one in your name, you have no problems, it will surely return.
but if it's stealthy you have a problem (maybe that data has already been used many times in other ebay accounts) some new account sellers don't mind using random or poor quality data for their accounts, |

That's eBay and PP for you.... welcome to the forum first of all.
Did you use your own photo btw?
What's the brand of the pencil? Some times this could trigger it as stupid as it sounds for a pencil. |

1st was it a stock photo you used or did you take the photo of the pen yourself?
Second did you make sure all the details you entered were 100% your own? |
